ELECTION RESULTS: Resounding Re-Election for Guthrie, 5 New Councillors

The results of the 2022 Guelph Municipal Election were predictable in some ways, but really quite surprising in others. Among the especially notable surprises is that while nine incumbents were running for re-election, only eight of them are coming back to the council table in the new term. UGDSB’s Long-Serving Director of Education Passes Away Months After Retiring

Just a few months after she stepped down as the long-serving Director of Education at the Upper Grand District School Board, news broke on Monday that Martha Rogers had passed away. Rogers had a career that spanned nearly 50 years, starting as a teacher in Peel region in 1972, and finishing her career with an impressive quarter-century hitch in the highest administrative position in local separate school board. Black and Longfield Tour West Willow Neighbourhood Food System

Food security has been one of the defining issues of the pandemic era, and Guelph has been at the centre of trying to find new and innovative solutions. One of the groups doing a lot with a little is the West Willow Village, and they got a chance to show off all their hard work Thursday during a visit from Guelph MP Lloyd Longfield and Senator Rob Black. Upper Grand and Wellington Catholic Waiting for Key Docs to Finish 2020/21 Budget

At the Upper Grand District School Board Meeting last Tuesday, a series of meetings about the budget for the 2020/2021 school year were cancelled because the board is still waiting for documents from the Ministry of Education that they need to finalize the budget. With a deadline of June 30 for the final budget to be submitted to the ministry, school boards across Ontario have 30 days to get their financial plans in order even through there are still so many questions that have to be answered.
