Police Investigating Two Additional Incidents of Hate-Related Graffiti
Guelph Police Service are investigating two additional incidents of what they’re calling hate-related graffiti. The news comes just a little over a week after it was reported that someone plastered the front door of the Beth Isaiah Synagogue on Surrey Street West with several anti-Semitic stickers, but it seems that those spreading hate around Guelph are not content with just one act of anti-Semitism. No Less Than Three COVID-19 Outbreaks Now at Guelph General
It’s probably not the news anyone wants to hear, but it’s probably the news we’re going to have to get used to hearing as we move deeper into the fall and winter seasons. Not only does Guelph General Hospital now have one COVID-19 outbreak, it has three. The three separate units on three separate floors are now closed to all visitors except for the ones who are there on compassionate grounds. The 23rd annual Mayor’s Event for Mental Health was all about finding creative ways to handle stress, anxiety and other mental health issues. On Wednesday, 10C Shared Space’s SDG Cities office held the second of two in-person campaign events. Former City Councillor Moziar Passes Away at 86
In this time of municipal campaigning, it’s sadly poignant that we say one last goodbye to a previous member of city council. Last weekend, former two-term Ward 2 City Councillor Dan Moziar passed away away. Moziar is being remembered for his consequential work as a councillor, his active political life, and being a proud alum of Queen’s University. Police Investigating Graffiti at Guelph Synagogue as Hate Crime
Hate crimes are on the rise in Canada, at least according to the latest statistics from Stats Can, but you can probably see it all around, even here in good old Guelph. After repeated incidents of vandalism at the headquarters of the Guelph Black Heritage Society this summer, it seems like its time for Guelph’s Jewish community to get a taste of hate crimes as Guelph Police are now investigating an incident from last week.
