School Board Trustee Wants to Get Kids in Need a Free Bike

Good biking weather is finally here, but what if you don’t own a bike? What if your family doesn’t have the money to afford a new bike? This is the conundrum for young people across Guelph who like to have a bike, but find that getting one is a luxury. Well, one school board trustee thinks a kids’ bike is not a luxury, and he’s started a new program to refurbish previously enjoyed bikes for new adventures with new cyclists. McNaughton Likes His Party’s Odds in Guelph this Election

Wouldn’t it be nice if Guelph had an MPP that was part of the next provincial government? This is the pitch from current Ontario Labour Minister Monte McNaughton. The incumbent Lambton-Kent-Middlesex candidate stopped by the campaign office for Guelph Progressive Conservative nominee Peter McSherry, and both men agreed that McSherry having a spot in the next Ford government is a good idea. RECAP: Lots of Agreement on Sustainability Issues at 10C Town Hall

Less than two hours after they last all saw each other at Bishop Macdonell High School, three of the main party candidates running in Guelph this provincial election faced off again at 10C Shared Space. The topic for this town hall was how each candidate, and their parties, might work towards accomplishing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, which covers everything from mental health to the environment, and there was lots of general agreement.
