Public Health Says Everyone That Can Work From Home, Now Needs to Work From Home

Just a day after the Government of Ontario announced that they’re putting a rush on boosters and capping attendance at large venues, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health announced that they were going further with new COVID precautions. By order of Medical Officer of Health Dr. Nicola Mercer, starting Monday, anyone that can work from home needs to start working from home as the effort to slow Omicron ramps up. UGDSB’s Long-Serving Director of Education Passes Away Months After Retiring

Just a few months after she stepped down as the long-serving Director of Education at the Upper Grand District School Board, news broke on Monday that Martha Rogers had passed away. Rogers had a career that spanned nearly 50 years, starting as a teacher in Peel region in 1972, and finishing her career with an impressive quarter-century hitch in the highest administrative position in local separate school board. Teen Arrested for Threatening a School Shooting (UPDATED)

The idea of school shootings are all too common place in modern times, even if they’re just a threat, but the threat of a school shooting here in Guelph? Black and Longfield Tour West Willow Neighbourhood Food System

Food security has been one of the defining issues of the pandemic era, and Guelph has been at the centre of trying to find new and innovative solutions. City and Developer Reach a Potential Deal on 75 Dublin Appeal

An odyssey now nearly five years long, the file on a proposed residential building for seniors took a step closer to being closed during a case management conference at the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) this morning. A settlement between the City of Guelph and the developer, Rykur Holdings, will end one part of the appeal, and now all parties will see if they can resolve the other part. Guelph Marks Discovery of Mass Grave at B.C. Residential School

The discovery of a mass grave with the remains of 215 children at the Kamloops Indian Residential School has re-opened a national sorrow, and prompted new demands for accountability and reconciliation.
