Whether it’s an event at the River Run Centre, your child’s favourite summer camp, or booking a picnic site in Riverside Park for your family reunion, when it comes to City of Guelph properties, it’s “See you in September” for local amenities and the people. City officials announced today that all scheduled programs, performances, and events at their facilities are cancelled until after Labour Day. Unless people are just passing through, Guelph’s parks have been empty for the better part of the last two months, but some of those restrictions are now being lifted, and just in time for a nice stretch of spring weather. Although people are being asked to maintain social distancing, they will now be able to do it while kicking the ball around at the park. If you have a lot of garbage lying around, and no way to get rid of it, then you will be happy to hear that the public drop-off will soon be open again in a limited capacity in the very near future. Also returning to some kind of normalcy, and just in time for the long weekend, will be access to parks and trails government by the Grand River Conservation Authority. For further good news?
