City Hires Perini Management to Oversee Police HQ Completion

Following up on last month’s sudden removal of Jasper Construction from the $34 million renovation of Guelph Police Services’ headquarters, a new contractor has been hired to complete the project. The City of Guelph announced Thursday that Perini Management will be taking over the project to ensure that the renovations are finally completed more than a year after they were supposed to be finished. Contractor on Guelph Police HQ Renos Fired After Months of Delay

In news that’s giving City Hall watchers serious flashbacks involving the word “Urbacon”, the general contractor working on the $34 million renovation of the Guelph Police Service headquarters has been removed from the project. The City of Guelph assures us though that this is not the same as the 2010 debacle that resulted in millions of dollars being paid out to the contractor who was fired from the 1 Carden Street construction project a decade ago. Ceremony Kicks Off 154 Weeks of Renovations Guelph Police Headquarters

Now surrounded by blue construction fencing, the headquarters for the Guelph Police Service looks very different today than it will three years from now.
