RECAP: Board of Health Hears About Increased Community Need for Healthy Food

The Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health began 2023 with some shocking if unsurprising insights into the current state of food insecurity in the region. How much it costs to feed a family nutritiously was the main point of the January meeting, but there was also the election of the new board executive (Congrats to vice-chair Councillor Goller!) and an update from the Medical Officer of Health. GUELPH POLITICAST #355 – …The Rest of the Year at City Council

Here’s the first episode of the podcast for the year, and what are we talking about? Stuff that happened in the year that just ended! Before we let 2022 go for good, we’re going to go around the horseshoe, the one in the council chambers at 1 Carden Street, one more time. There weren’t that many council meetings between September and December, but that doesn’t mean nothing interesting happened. GUELPH POLITICAST #354 – 2022 Year in Review

There were good news stories, bad news stories, and some very bad news stories. Progress was made in some quarters, and there was regression in others.
