MEETING PREVIEW: Guelph Police Services Board for May 16, 2024

After taking April off, the Guelph Police Services Board return for a mid-May chinwag about all the business of policing in the city. MEETING PREVIEW: Accessibility Advisory Committee for May 21, 2024

Yes, it’s May, but accessibility matters do not take a holiday even when it’s one of the Accessibility Advisory Committee’s usual months off. Unlike most AAC joints, this one will focus on one issue, and it’s a referral from city council. The committee will be asked to bring their expertise and experience to bare on a matter of playgrounds and their level of accessibility in a key piece of City policy. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the Meeting on May 22?

Been a while since we’ve had a workshop… So what’s the focus of this one? The future! More specifically though the future of downtown. Guelph’s main drag in the core will be getting some work done in the next decade, and if we’re working on all the stuff under the road, we can take the time to work on some stuff on top of the road, you know, give Wyndham Street a face lift. GUELPH POLITICAST #418 – Mental Health Week

Earlier this year, Statistics Canada reported that there has been a five per cent increase in positive responses in the proportions of adults who reported excellent or very good mental health, a strong sense of belonging to their local community, and a high level of life satisfaction between 2021 and 2023. And yet, considering that still less than three out of five adults report excellent or very good mental health, we still have a long way to go.
