New Blue’s Lomker Believes that Voters Want a Real Alternative This Election

The debate had been over for 20 minutes, the venue had been transformed back into a cafeteria and the students were trickling in to eat their lunches. All the other candidates had left for their next campaign stop, but not Will Lomker. Guelph’s New Blue candidate remained on stage, answering questions from College Heights students who were among the lucky ones able to hear from this politician in his first and only debate appearance. Taylor Tells Open Sources Why Voting None of the Above Makes the Most Sense

Schreiner Spends Last Weekend of Campaign in… Parry Sound-Muskoka?!

In what’s probably an indication about the odds here in Guelph, and maybe the odds up in Parry Sound-Muskoka, Guelph’s incumbent Green candidate and leader of Ontario’s Green Party,  spent the last Saturday before Election Day supporting another candidate in another riding. Volleyball Referee Busted for Inappropriate Behaviour After U of G Tournament

It’s become a terrible and oddly familiar story in the world of junior sport: A man in authority taking advantage of underage women. It happened again earlier this month at the University of Guelph at a volleyball tournament, and after receiving reports from volunteers in attendance, Guelph Police have arrested a man who was one of the referees at the tournament and he’s facing now over a dozen charges.
