MEETING PREVIEW: Transit Advisory Committee Meeting for February 16, 2023

City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the February 22 Meeting?
Picking up where we left off in January, council will continue with their review and refresh of the Strategic Plan. This work will guide the business corporation for the next four years in terms of goals, and the funding to reach those goals through the multi-year budget. Budgeting will be one of the things we focus on at this meeting as we march closer to July and the approval of the new plan! RECAP: Committee of Adjustment Approves Garage Conversion Over Staff Objection
This month’s Committee of Adjustment saw a number of variances handed out in the name of creating more units in the city, but only one caused any real dilemma. When one man wanted to turn the garage on his rental property into an additional accessory unit, City staff and his neighbour both said no, and then it was up to the committee to unravel the moral conundrum: Could they find a way to get to yes to get one more until in stock? MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for February 13, 2023
For February’s Heritage Guelph meeting, it feels like we’re resetting the table for the tricky years ahead. Two items will be before the committee this month, both already familiar to the public at large; Heritage Guelph will formally recommend the shape and size of the heritage district at the old jail lands, and then begin the busy work of saving as much heritage as they can in the next 24 months.
