Picking up where we left off in January, council will continue with their review and refresh of the Strategic Plan. This work will guide the business corporation for the next four years in terms of goals, and the funding to reach those goals through the multi-year budget. Budgeting will be one of the things we focus on at this meeting as we march closer to July and the approval of the new plan!

Strategic Plan Refresh: Workshop with City Council #2 – Continuing with the city council-approved refresh of the Strategic Plan, the horseshoe will take another step forward in the process. At this workshop, council will go over the connection between the Strategic Plan and multi-year budgeting, and then dig into a review of the strategic pillars and the objectives.
In terms of that second part, council will consider each of the strategic pillars on their own and in connection to each other. They will review each pillar’s goal statement and objectives and consider what’s missing from the pillars, if they’re meeting the City’s most pressing needs, and how best to implement a plan to meet those goals and answer those needs. Council’s feedback will then be incorporated into the consultant’s work to refine the new pillars, and this work will be refined further when council meets for their next engagement session in March.
