MEETING PREVIEW: County Social Services Meeting for May 10, 2023
This month, the Wellington County Social Services Committee meeting will be mostly about the future of childcare and after school programs, from the County staff’s own internal plans to the outside funding changes from the Province. New funding models and new plans for the future are about half the meeting, the other half will focus on Housing 101 in Wellington County, plus maybe (?) an Ontario Works update. This Week at Council: Strategic Plan Updated Further, and So Was Transit!
April ended with a very busy trifecta of meetings including a very heavy focus on transit matters. Before that though, council had another workshop to discuss the update to the Strategic Plan for the last time before a finished draft comes back in a few months. As for transit, council made some updates and heard all about those future plans, and other matters of transportation, at a separate workshop. MEETING PREVIEW: Board of Health Meeting for May 3, 2023
This month’s Board of Health meeting focuses on matters of everyday health. For instance, there was an incident in the Dufferin part of Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health where people got sick from food at a public event. There will be a report about that, plus a report about Public Health’s communications strategy last year and something called “Adverse Childhood Experiences”.
