This Week at Council: Workshops, Assignments and Planning

Council got back to it’s regularly scheduled workload for this December with four meetings in two days. The councillors filled their minds with the ins and outs of planning and budgeting, and then put some that knowledge to the test with the first official planning meeting of the term. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the Special Meetings on December 6?

Council gets back to its regularly scheduled program with a pair of special meetings that will precede the first official planing meeting of the new term. Or should we say “meetings.” So before that first planning meeting, council’s going to learn the bits and pieces of planning policy, and then they’re going to fill up the ranks of Guelph’s very important public boards and committees for the new term. This Month at Council: Official Plan, Zoning and Homelessness

July means the end of council business for the summer, but in this election year it also kind of means the end of business for the rest of this term. With the exception of a couple of meetings in September, and one in November, this is it for the current incarnation of council and what a way to leave things with a new Official Plan Amendment, a major benchmark in the Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw review, and emergency motions about homelessness downtown. This Month at Council: Voting Methods, Route Review, and Zoning Bylaw Changes

November was a busy month around the virtual horseshoe, and that’s even before you factor in the business of the 2022-2023 Guelph budgets.
