GUELPH POLITICAST #407 – Mike’s Homes
When the Ontario Legislature resumed sitting this week, Guelph MPP Mike Schreiner wasn’t sitting alone as the only Green member. The fact that Aislinn Clancy won handily in Kitchener Centre might be a sign that people are interested in listen to Green ideas, and the Legislature will get a chance to show they they’re listening next week by sending Schreiner’s private member’s bill to committee and naturally, he thinks they should! The first Accessibility Advisory Committee meeting of the year was packed! Even more packed than usual. MEETING PREVIEW: Grand River Conservation Membership Meeting for February 23, 2024
If it’s February at the Grand River Conservation Authority then that means it’s time for the Annual General Meeting for the membership board, and if it’s the AGM, then that means it’s time for the final passage of the budget. Not much has changed with the budget in the last 30 days, just about half-a-million dollars or so, but there’s a lot of meeting to get through before the last word on the budget and that includes a lot of audit stuff. This Week at Council: Planning, Tribunal and Encampments Form the Trifecta
There are busy weeks at council, and then there’s spending nearly half of a 28-hour period in the council chambers.
