RECAP: Friends Ask the Library Board for Help, and Donor Recognition Discussed

The theme of April’s meeting of the Guelph Public Library Board of Directors was “help.” It makes sense because one of the many functions of the library is to give help to those who asked for it, and the Friends of the Guelph Public Library were asking because they need a space for their annual book sale this year. Also, in matters of helping themselves, the board moved forward with a project to show gratitude for people who give to the new library project. RECAP: Consultants Lay Out a Plan to Promote the New Library for the Board

It was a good day for the Guelph Public Library, and not just because today was the day for the monthly Board of Directors meeting. After the announcement Monday morning that the new library project was getting some cash from the federal government, the board sat down to talk to a consultant about how they were going to sell it. As usual, we get to the end of the month and the regularly scheduled meeting of the Guelph Public Library Board of Directors. This month is a kind of special occasion, a sad occasion, because this is the last meeting for CEO Steve Kraft after a 41-year illustrious career in the library business in Guelph. The last Guelph Public Library Board of Directors meeting of the year will look to the future, short and long-term. As 2023 comes to an end, the year that ground was finally broken on the new main library, the board will look at how they’re going to help fundraise for it.
