The theme of the meeting seems to be new apartments with a couple of variants for accessory units and the transformation of a current commercial space. Despite the challenges that the Grand River Conservation Authority is facing, January’s board meeting was brief and straightforward as they handled some of the usual beginning-of-the-term business. The Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health will welcome February with their monthly meeting, and it will be a very interesting agenda that will look at the programs that might have suffered from all the emphasis on COVID-19 in the last few years, and the immediate plans and priorities for the public health unit in the next 12 months. Heritage Guelph kicked off the new year with an update about a couple of key areas of concern: The Heritage Conservation District study of the Ontario Reformatory Lands, and an update about the post-Bill 23 workload for heritage staff. There was progress on both counts, especially with the HCD study which looks about ready to move on to the next phase, the phase where it comes to council!
