If you don’t listen to Open Sources Guelph (and why wouldn’t you, you can find it on the same podcast channel as the Guelph Politicast), this is your chance to get a taste of what we offer every Thursday at 5 pm on CFRU. Addendum to Gibson Appearance on Open Sources Guelph
Last month, it occurred to Scotty Hertz and myself that maybe our radio show on CFRU can be used for more than saying our opinions about current events… Seriously though, we always knew that, but we decided that we should set ourselves the goal of inviting all 12 of Guelph’s city councillors on the show for a friendly conversation, and because our imagination is so poor, we decided to start with Ward 1. Open Sources Show Notes for Fall Election Coverage
Can you believe the 2015 Federal Campaign is already a month old? Neither can we, but as September begins, those of that run the wheels here at Open Sources Guelph are about to get serious with our campaign coverage, as the show post-Labour Day will start to share the mic with a rotating chair of local candidates who are all vying to become Guelph’s next Member of Parliament. Where do they stand on the issues? What do they want to do for the riding? What effect will their party’s victory on October 19th have on the country? Those are some of the questions we’ll put to our special guests, and here is when you can listen to their answers? Continue reading “Open Sources Show Notes for Fall Election Coverage”
A Quick Note About Election Coverage
So here we are, another Federal campaign. This blog started with a Federal election, the 2008 by-election to replace Brenda Chamberlain as Member of Parliament for Guelph, and that became the full-blown 2008 Federal Election exactly one day before it was over. We made it though 2011, after which we were assured thanks to a majority for the Conservatives that we’d have a four years till the next one. So here we are, and I’m sure you’re wondering what I have cooking… Continue reading “A Quick Note About Election Coverage”
#AskMayorCam on Upcoming Open Sources
It was a little over six months ago that Cam Guthrie was elected to be Mayor of the City of Guelph, but those first four months on the job haven’t been all getting settled, hand-shaking and memorizing the names of city hall staff. No, Mayor Guthrie had to get right down to work, and work with the new council, to put together a budget for 2015. No easy feat even if everyone on council has experience parsing those huge budget books, and no easy task when you’ve made a lot of promises about changing the way business is done at 1 Carden Street.
