Election Night Plans

A week from today, Canadians – or at least the ones that haven’t been to the polls already – will vote for the 42nd Parliament of this Confederation. That night, Open Sources Guelph will hit the airwaves to broadcast the results from coast to coast to coast.

On Monday October 19th at 8 pm, myself, Scotty Hertz and members of the CFRU News team will be there at 93.3 on your fm dial (or at cfru.ca if you like) with the latest news and analysis about the Federal Election.

By the time we begin, results for Newfoundland and Atlantic Canada will have started to come in, which will give us lots to talk about right at the top of the show. Polls close here in Ontario at 9:30 pm, with the final polls closing on the west coast at 10 pm our time. Open Sources will be on the air till the complete election picture has been revealed.

In addition, the show will be broadcasting live from the Bullring on the University of Guelph campus. Our special Election Night coverage will also run in tandum with contests. Listeners and those attending in-person at the Bullring will be invited to guess the total number of seats each party is going to win, and by Price is Right rules, the closest without going over wins a special prize. Another prize will go to the person that guess correctly the winner of the local Guelph race and by what percentage of votes.

In the meantime, if you’re still making up your mind about who to vote for, here are links to Open Source’s interviews with Guelph candidates.
