MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for November 4, 2024

It’s going to be a busy slate for the Heritage Guelph meeting this November with changes, plans, designations, and maybe even a hint of conflict (?). But wait, there’s more… Continue reading “MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for November 4, 2024”

Committee of the Whole Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the November 5, 2024 Meeting?

November’s Committee of the Whole meeting will be largely straightforward but with matters of pretty big importance, especially if you like the timely and appropriate collection of your recyclables. That’s one of two matters on this agenda, the other is a matter of renewing the City of Guelph’s franchise agreement with a utility company and that one promises to get a little bit spicy. RECAP: Ward 5 Have Concerns About Fourplexes, Budget Cuts

Not affiliated with any of the planned budget town halls coming soon, Ward 5 Councillors Leanne Caron and Cathy Downer held their own town hall on Thursday night at Harcourt United Church that focused on planning issues. If you missed it though, here’s the recap… Continue reading “RECAP: Ward 5 Have Concerns About Fourplexes, Budget Cuts”

Did City of Guelph staff do it, and what all ended up shaved in the end. Your budget season begins with this council preview! RECAP: Transit Committee Stays the Course as Job Action Looms

It was a relatively brief meeting of the Transit Advisory Committee this month, and that’s in-spite of the rather long shadow being cast by the potential for job action in the next few weeks. There was also some rather sad news about one member of the committee but otherwise it seemed like business as usual as Transit, like every other city department, heads into budget season. To get those and other details, check out the recap below…
