Just a couple of days after Guelph City Council ratified a slate of motions meant to direct action on homelessness, mental health and addiction issues in Downtown Guelph, the City’s social services provider will gather the committee that oversees them for a special meeting. Time was running out for the people who have living in Loyola House for the last year as the County of Wellington’s lease for their Loyola House Supportive Temporary Accommodation Pilot (LHSTAP) was due to run out on Tuesday. Well, there’s good news for the temporary residents of Loyola House because they are moving down to the other end of Woodlawn for the foreseeable future. There was a gathering of people in Riverside Park in late August, and even though they said that they didn’t identify with QAnon, they still knew all the buzzwords like “save the children”.
