There’s been a lot of talk about Guelph Transit lately between the potential transit worker strike cancelled at the last minute and proposed cuts in the 2025 budget, but things will more or less be ordinary business for this meeting of the Transit Advisory Committee. Or perhaps we should say “ordinary for now” because the committee will talk about its potential future along with some of the usual matters. This could be the end of the budget process, but on the other hand there might be vetos and the repeal of vetos, but those are problems for another day. This day is about amendments, councillors will be able to finally have their day and amend the now confirmed 2025 budget, and that’s where the proverbial fun begins. This November meeting of the Joint Social Services and Land Ambulance Committee saw much of the focus fall on the second half of that long name.
