In the last week, more and more cohorts have been opened to vaccine eligibility, and the it’s been accompanied by the usual excitement of people receiving their life-saving shot. Guelph Library Says It Was a Busy Year Despite the Pandemic
It was a very busy year at the Guelph Public Library even though they were closed for a big portion of it, and many members of the library staff were laid off. It’s Official: On Tuesday, We’re Re-Opening Red!!
We’re red! Or we will be. Since it was announced on Monday that most of Ontario’s health regions would be returning to the colour-coded restriction system next week, we’ve all be wondering where Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph will sit on the scale. In a Friday announcement from Queen’s Park, it was revealed that like those final days before the province-wide lockdown, we’re going back to red. Ontario Locking Down on Boxing Day, City of Guelph Responding with New Measures
After weeks of speculation, the Government of Ontario formally announced on Monday that the province will be going back into lockdown on Boxing Day this Saturday. The province-wide increase in the number of new COVID-19 cases has prompted the Provincial government to give the gift of staying at home the day after Christmas even as new areas in the GTA entered grey-level lockdowns on Monday. This Month at Council: A Growth Workshop, Supportive Housing, and a New Library
It was a very busy October at City Council, and front loaded with one of the biggest, most controversial debates of our time: the approval of the new main library. That took a lot of time and energy around the virtual horseshoe, but there was also a lot of ground covered on updating the City’s growth projections, setting aside funds for supportive housing, and, as always, a couple of controversial zoning amendments.
