The Accessibility Advisory Committee spent a great deal of their June meeting talking about what they mean when it comes to intersectionality, and how best City of Guelph staff can monitor that. Tough questions, and they sort of got an answer before proceeding to a decision about that new Transit chime, and then looking at a new trail in the north end, and a pedestrian bridge just a little down the road from there. MEETING PREVIEW: Accessibility Advisory Committee for June 18, 2024
The Accessibility Advisory Committee is back on its regular schedule in June with a well-rounded selection of topics. Committee will follow up on some work they began this time last year, and then they will follow-up on some action items from a few months ago (hope you like some discussion about bus chimes). This Month at Council: Economic Plan, Growth Plan and Transportation Plan.
Guelph city council began the year 2022 by approving a lot of new long-term plans. Council set up and knocked down plans for economic development over the next four years, plans to manage growth for the next 30 years, and plans for moving people around town for that same time horizon. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the January 24 Meeting?
Since city council approved the draft Transportation Master Plan last summer, the City of Guelph has initiated automated speed enforcement, installed new red light cameras, built several new pedestrian crossings, and committed to a 10-year investment in improved transit. What’s next? Well, for this special January meeting, council will approve (or not, potentially) the completed version of the Transportation Master Plan.
