Latest Hospital Outbreak Over, U of G Keeping Masks

The pandemic continues to affect life here in Guelph and around Ontario (not to mention Canada and the rest of the planet), but it is affecting us a little less today. The latest outbreak at Guelph General Hospital has been officially called off, but across town at the campus of the University of Guelph, the continued spread of COVID-19 has forced the school’s administration to halt a planned end to certain mandates. Dr. Moore Reappears to Try and Calm Fears Around the Sixth Wave

Over a month since the last time he appeared in front of reporters, Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario Dr. Kieran Moore returned to the media studio at Queen’s Park to respond to the sixth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. While he proposed no new mandates, there was a potential for the reconsideration of lifting future mandates at the end of the month, plus the expansion of therapeutics. Chambers Named the 10th Chancellor of the U of G

When people have talked about normalcy at the University of Guelph these last few years, they’ve been talking about the pandemic, and whether or not students will learn in-person on campus. On the other hand, a return to normalcy might refer to permanence for the leadership team at the U of G. Public Health Expands 4th Doses as Mercer Tells Health Board the 6th Wave is Under Control

More and more we’re hearing the words “sixth wave”, so if we’re seeing another increase in COVID-19 cases, then we need a reaction from our local public health unit, right? On Wednesday, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health announced an expansion of who’s eligible for a fourth vaccine dose, while Medical Officer of Health Dr. Nicola Mercer tried to assure the Board of Health that things are in hand. Library Services Bounced Back From COVID Lockdowns in 2021

The Guelph Public Library has published its annual report from 2021, and the it looks like good news.
