Dolime Development Open to Suggestions at First Look Open House

In the west end of Guelph you will find the newest part of town, 230 acres of land sitting on top of about 11 million litres of precious ground water. Presently, this land is still the Dolime Quarry, but in the years to come it will be a new subdivision. So with development plans currently in the works, the land’s owner, River Valley Developments, opened up the doors for the first time for public input. Clark Signs MZO to Make Dolime Residential, Becomes Part of Guelph January 1

The Dolime Quarry land will become a part of the City of Guelph on January 1, 2022. This announcement comes from Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Steve Clark who came to Guelph first thing on Monday morning to announce that he’s signing the Ministerial Zoning Order (MZO) that will rezone the quarry once it’s shut down. Wellington County Quickly Moves Dolime Annex to Next Phase

The annexation of the Dolime Quarry property, and is potential future as a residential neighbourhood in Guelph, took a couple of steps forward this week after two public meetings. From the council in Guelph/Eramosa Township to the council at Wellington County, the annexation has moved closer to being a done deal, and, it seems, without much public opposition. GUELPH POLITICAST #263 – They Had Concerns

You may remember Xinyi, a Chinese glass manufacturer that wanted to try and build a plant just next door in Guelph/Eramosa Township. All but one of the township’s councillors rejected the proposal in the wake of wide-spread public outcry about the effect on the local environment, especially the water supply, and that seemed to be the end of that.
