It’s a moment all the local policy wonks have been waiting for… the initiation of the process to come up with the next version of the Strategic Plan. As discussed this week, a lot (and we do mean A LOT) has changed since the previous version of the Strategic Plan was hacked out by council in 2019, so this is probably going to be an even more interesting process than before. Shall we begin… Continue reading “City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the January 24 Workshop Meeting?”

City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the January 24 Meeting?
Not much to see for this regular meeting of city council, at least not much that you haven’t already seen. Council will revisit the new appoints they approved to Committee of the Whole, decide whether to let one of their colleagues ascend to a higher body (if elected), and will also have an in-camera conversation about the CAO’s performance objectives for the year. RECAP: Social Services Gets A Look at the Future of 65 Delhi Street

Along with that, the committee also heard about the paramedic response to last month’s winter storm, changes coming in the 2023 budget, and childcare user fees! GUELPH POLITICAST #355 – …The Rest of the Year at City Council
Here’s the first episode of the podcast for the year, and what are we talking about? Stuff that happened in the year that just ended! Before we let 2022 go for good, we’re going to go around the horseshoe, the one in the council chambers at 1 Carden Street, one more time. There weren’t that many council meetings between September and December, but that doesn’t mean nothing interesting happened.
