The first two city council meetings of the month covered a lot of ground. This is the last Committee of the Whole meeting before the fall, and like any season finale, it seems like a lot of different issues are coming to a head. At Monday’s city council meeting the topic of the 2022 Municipal Election will come up again, but this time, it’s not about maps or the number of councillors. This Monday, the topic is voting itself, or rather making sure that everyone in town is able to vote in the next election regardless of any issues with accessibility they might be facing. The annexation of the Dolime Quarry property, and is potential future as a residential neighbourhood in Guelph, took a couple of steps forward this week after two public meetings. From the council in Guelph/Eramosa Township to the council at Wellington County, the annexation has moved closer to being a done deal, and, it seems, without much public opposition.
