MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for May 6, 2024

There’s going to be a busy slate at this month’s Heritage Guelph meeting as the local heritage protection committee’s got a lot of extra protection to do. First up, they will asked again to put themselves between history and the wrecking ball as a property already under protection is threatened yet again. But other matters this month are less urgent or dire as the committee adds three more properties to the formal list of designated properties. MEETING PREVIEW: Guelph Public Library Board for April 29, 2024

No April foolishness here because this is the end of the month, not the beginning! As usual, the Guelph Public Library Board of Directors will gather in the public meeting room at the central building to talk about all manner of library oversight business from the new building to recognizing the people helping to support the construction of that building. MEETING PREVIEW: Accessibility Advisory Committee for April 16, 2024

After skipping March like usual, the Accessibility Advisory Committee will pick up where it left off in February, with questions about the direction on alternative voting methods for the 2026 municipal election. That’s going to be complicated, but fortunately much of the rest of the agenda seems straightforward with some items on heritage, waste collection and transit to consider, and then we have to get ready for a special meeting in May. MEETING PREVIEW: Transit Advisory Committee Meeting for April 18, 2024

Time to catch the bus, or rather the committee that advises about the buses. The April agenda for the Transit Advisory Committee looks suspiciously like the March agenda, but with one additional item. Once again, TAC will look at chimes, and ridership concerns, and general updates, but they will also hear about a proverbial meeting of local transit minds. MEETING PREVIEW: Joint Social Services and Land Ambulance Committee Meeting for April 10, 2024

It’s not everyday that there’s the start of a new committee, or perhaps we should call this a committee reboot, because it’s taking something that already existed, but getting a new twist. MEETING PREVIEW: Board of Health Meeting for April 3, 2024

This month, the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health will make the seasonal transition… to meeting in-person again! And speaking of seasonal, the big presentation of the month is going to be about bugs, the one’s that spread dangerous and life-threatening diseases.
