The last Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health meeting for the year will focus on a couple of different areas. You like vaping? MEETING PREVIEW: Committee of Adjustment Meeting for December 14, 2023

There’s no early holiday break for the Committee of Adjustment, they still have a pretty busy agenda of new applications this month, and they’re all asking for a variety of variances. A new balcony, a new front yard, some new additions, and a couple of new accessory units are among the items up for committee’s consideration, and the applicants are hoping that it’s a happy Christmas for their construction projects! MEETING PREVIEW: Guelph Public Library Board for November 27, 2023

The last Guelph Public Library Board of Directors meeting of the year will look to the future, short and long-term. As 2023 comes to an end, the year that ground was finally broken on the new main library, the board will look at how they’re going to help fundraise for it. That’s the long-term, but the short-term talk will focus on setting the table for 2024 and what the staff and board hope to focus on in the new year. MEETING PREVIEW: Grand River Conservation Membership Meeting for November 24, 2023

It’s been a busy couple of months at membership board of the Grand River Conservation Authority, so by comparison November’s meeting is going to be a little bit lighter. (Also, the annual general meeting is next month so it’s a small respite.) For this meeting there’s the usual financial updates, some tenders to approve, plus some human resources policies to update, but the big thing, again, has to do with outdoor education. MEETING PREVIEW: Guelph Police Services Board for November 16, 2023

After passing the Guelph Police Services budget for 2024-2027 last month, this November meeting of the Police Services Board seems positively light. MEETING PREVIEW: Transit Advisory Committee Meeting for November 16, 2023

November’s Transit Advisory Committee meeting will look to the future. That means looking at the budget and some of the best laid plans in the 10-year route and schedule strategy that are now delayed, and that also means looking at potential changes to a south end bus route. MEETING PREVIEW: Accessibility Advisory Committee for November 14, 2023

Take two! This meeting was originally supposed to take place last month, but the Accessibility Advisory Committee was unable to achieve quorum. So the meeting was rescheduled following October’s regular meting and this is where they landed, in the middle of November at approximately the same time that an AAC meeting might normally take place. November’s meeting of Heritage Guelph will see a lot of movement on the preservation of location heritage, which is good because we’re now almost one year into the two year project to save listed properties thanks to Bill 23.
