Committee of Adjustment will get together again in February to tackle a fresh slate of minor zoning variance requests, about half of which will be familiar if you’re a fan of Committee of Adjustment business. As for the new business, think bigger! More space for a driveway, more floor space for an accessory building, and more floor space for a garage. MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for February 5, 2024

It’s been a busy few weeks for Heritage Guelph, and this meeting promises to be one of the busiest. On this agenda, there’s some administrative work for the committee, and there are some new heritage designations in the queue for their consideration too. MEETING PREVIEW: Guelph Public Library Board for January 29, 2024

It’s been almost two months since we’ve gotten together for a Guelph Public Library Board of Directors meeting. As we end the first month of the new year, the board will spend their first meeting of 2024 catching up on what’s been happening with the new library and the fundraising for it, and they will also look ahead to what business the library will get up to this year, and what roles the board members are going to fill. MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for January 29, 2024

Two Heritage Guelph meetings in the same month? What a treat! This one will focus on one of the two ongoing Heritage Conservation District studies happening now at the city, the one that’s focused on Downtown. MEETING PREVIEW: Grand River Conservation Membership Meeting for January 26, 2024

There’s no January chill at the Grand River Conservation Authority, and this month there’s a lot of end of the year/beginning of the year business to get to including, perhaps most importantly, the budget. The board will take their second crack at the budget for 2024 before it goes on for final passage next month, and the municipalities they represent will find out how much it will cost. The Committee of Adjustment will not be given a chance to ease into the new year because they have to get right back at it with about eight different files that are all looking for some kind of accommodation. MEETING PREVIEW: Accessibility Advisory Committee for December 19, 2023

There’s one more meeting before the holiday break, and it belongs to the Accessibility Advisory Committee. It’s been a busy year for the AAC, and  much of this meeting will cover business that’s been covered at other points this year including the very contentious topic of voting options for the 2026 Municipal Election.
