The last meeting of the Guelph Public Library Board of Directors for 2024 (sadly), was a mostly straightforward affair. First, the board looked at the completed strategic plan for the next four years and then they spent 90 minutes in-camera talking about two different matters involving personnel, one brief and one kind of long. We can’t talk about what happens in-camera, but we can talk about the rest. Here’s the recap! Continue reading “RECAP: Library Board Approves Strat Plan Then Goes In-Camera for Last ’24 Meet”

RECAP: Social Services Committee Plans the Future of Paramedic Services
This November meeting of the Joint Social Services and Land Ambulance Committee saw much of the focus fall on the second half of that long name. After hearing about the lack of ambulance news at last month’s meeting, the City of Guelph staff came well prepared for this one. Too much? Maybe. In other news, some social housing in Guelph are getting green upgrades and there’s good news for childcare. Here’s the recap… Continue reading “RECAP: Social Services Committee Plans the Future of Paramedic Services”
RECAP: Heritage Guelph Wants to See Terms Before Council Approval
The November meeting of Heritage Guelph was split between process and designations. Guess which side had the more controversy?! At issue was an update to the changes to the Advisory Committees of Council, and though staff weren’t proposing many changes for Heritage Guelph, there were some members of the committee that wanted to cross all the T’s and dot all the I’s before council grants their approval. RECAP: Transit Committee Stays the Course as Job Action Looms
It was a relatively brief meeting of the Transit Advisory Committee this month, and that’s in-spite of the rather long shadow being cast by the potential for job action in the next few weeks. There was also some rather sad news about one member of the committee but otherwise it seemed like business as usual as Transit, like every other city department, heads into budget season. For that, and all the rest of the agenda, check out the recap below… Continue reading “RECAP: The AAC Tells Staff – Respectfully – That They’re the Captain Now!”
RECAP: Heritage Guelph Has Notes About Ward West

RECAP: Too Many Unanswered Questions About CTS Closure Impact at Social Services
Some questions were answered, but other questions lingered as this month’s meeting of the Joint Social Services and Land Ambulance Committee wrapped up. It wasn’t all bad news, of course. For all that information, and more, check out the recap! Continue reading “RECAP: Too Many Unanswered Questions About CTS Closure Impact at Social Services”

It was a pretty straightforward meeting of Heritage Guelph this October, and it even had an obligatory stop at the cemetery. But that’s not the last word on this meeting, so to see what you missed, check out this recap! Continue reading “RECAP: Heritage Guelph Still Has Issues with Wall Repairs”
