This month’s planning meeting was delayed a day for the Thanksgiving holiday, which may have been a good thing because all of the projects were so big that council could use that extra day to prepare. This week at council, they discussed the work so far on another heritage conservation district, the first version of the newest Official Plan Amendment, a decision for one side of Clair and a new project for another. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the October 15, 2025 Meeting?

This Week at Council: New Tower Downtown and the Integrity Commissioner

The first planning meeting of the year was a big one, and size did matter. Council discussed the merits and demerits of a redevelopment that could see a 23-storey mixed-use residential building constructed at the corner of Wellington and Wyndham, but a decision on that will come later. In the meantime, the Integrity Commissioner came to town to give council the lowdown on how to avoid conflicts of interest. This Month at Council Part 1: Trees, Signs, and More Transitional Housing

Guelph City Council tackled a very busy agenda before the summer break. The Committee of the Whole meeting was a marathon affair with topics about trees, the new sign bylaw, and speed limits.
