MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for September 9, 2024

It’s “Back to School” time for Heritage Guelph, though there’s really nothing related to school on this month’s agenda. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the September 10, 2024 Meeting?

The first planning meeting of the fall will have something for everyone, a new project that’s bound to be controversial, a decision on a project that was sort of controversial a few months ago, a new heritage designation, and some pruning to the City of Guelph’s new Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw. Are these the best laid plans, or will some delegates and council members have other ideas? Let’s take a look… Continue reading “City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the September 10, 2024 Meeting?”

This Week at Council: A Tale of Two Projects

This month’s planning meeting had a lot stuff going on, but only a couple of items were explored in detail. RECAP: Heritage Guelph Greenlight Homewood Changes

Before taking a break for summer vacation, Heritage Guelph took care of a couple of major pieces of new business. There are some big changes coming to the Homewood Health Centre, and it’s going to impact a beloved heritage building on the site. In other news, there are more heritage designations coming down the pipe for formal approval by city council, including a well known building on campus. Here’s the recap… Continue reading “RECAP: Heritage Guelph Greenlight Homewood Changes”

MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for July 8, 2024

No summer vacation (yet?) for Heritage Guelph, it turns out that there’s just too much heritage stuff going on. At this meeting, there’s more heritage to preserve, more approvals to send to council, and there’s also a construction project at one of Guelph’s most well-known heritage buildings (although it’s likely one that you’ve never been to). Here’s the July work load for Heritage Guelph…. Continue reading “MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for July 8, 2024”

Also, council said goodbye to a very prominent member of staff as he’s about to begin a new adventure as a retiree. Here’s the recap of this week at council… Continue reading “This Week at Council: Planning and a Future Ready Finale”
