Hopefully there will be no March Break for the Transit Advisory Committee. Unfortunately, the committee was unable to reach quorum at the February meeting out at the Watson Road Transit office, but back at City Hall it might be easier to bring everyone in to catch up on the work missed in February and take care of business for March. RECAP: One Short on Quorum So No Transit Committee Meeting this Month

Sometimes you go to a meeting and there’s no meeting. The Transit Advisory Committee was one member shy of quorum for this month’s gathering – one person was feeling unwell and two were unfortunately out of town – so the business of TAC’s February meeting now moves to March. In the meantime, the members who were able to attend got a chance to check out the City’s first EV bus live and in-person in its natural habitat. MEETING PREVIEW: Transit Advisory Committee Meeting for February 16, 2023

The Year of Transit (which may soon be declared as an actual thing) marches on with the February edition of the Transit Advisory Committee meeting. This month’s stacked agenda will include updates about the transit changes coming later this year, the usual discussion about recent transit issues, and a special field trip for committee members to check out the department’s newest asset (see above). City Staff, Council Take a Ride on the New EV Bus

After creating a sensation on social media when it arrived at Guelph Transit HQ on Friday, the City of Guelph’s first electric bus pulled in front of City Hall so that members of city council and members of City senior staff could take a closer look. The new bus received rave reviews for its spaciousness and the relative silence inside the vehicle, but it’s still going to be a while before transit users will be able to check that out for themselves.
