Sometimes you go to a meeting and there’s no meeting. The Transit Advisory Committee was one member shy of quorum for this month’s gathering – one person was feeling unwell and two were unfortunately out of town – so the business of TAC’s February meeting now moves to March. In the meantime, the members who were able to attend got a chance to check out the City’s first EV bus live and in-person in its natural habitat. After creating a sensation on social media when it arrived at Guelph Transit HQ on Friday, the City of Guelph’s first electric bus pulled in front of City Hall so that members of city council and members of City senior staff could take a closer look. The new bus received rave reviews for its spaciousness and the relative silence inside the vehicle, but it’s still going to be a while before transit users will be able to check that out for themselves.
