This Week at Council: Money Matters, But Not Too Much

There were two main topics on the agenda for the last Committee of the Whole meeting of 2025 and they both had to do with money, this year’s money. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the December 16, 2025 Meeting?

Merry Christmas! City council’s present to you is a new vision for St. George’s Square assuming that they want to pursue it. Committee of the Whole Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the December 2, 2025 Meeting?

It’s the last Committee of the Whole meeting of the year, and perhaps fittingly it’s about money matters. On this agenda, there are two main reports about the financial past and the financial future as we look back at the third quarter from near the end of the fourth, and then we will look ahead to the accounting of the whole fiscal 2025 and the external audit. So we’ll have all that, and the usual recognitions as the year starts to come in for a landing. This Week at Council: No Salt Added at Regular Meeting

If you thought last week at Guelph City Council was busy you won’t believe how straightforward everything was this week! At the regular council meeting for September there were some new committee appointments, and there was some appreciation for Guelphites doing great things, but the biggest item had to do with salt, the variety that you use on the road in winter. This Week at Council: Back to Business, and a Rerun

After a real August recess this year, city council – now whole again – returned to the council chambers for more hijinks starting with something we thought we had already done in July. After an impromptu planning meeting, council took part in the Committee of the Whole meeting where they covered I.T., WHMIS, and stuff that does have initials like the growing scourge of graffiti. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the September 16, 2025 Meeting?

It’s kind of early for the regular meeting of council for the month, but we’ve arrived here just the same.
