This month’s Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health meeting coincided with one of the worst days of air pollution seen in quite some time. Summer health issues were the focus of part of the meeting, how to cope with smoke from wildfires and what to do if you’ve bitten by ticks. MEETING PREVIEW: Board of Health Meeting for June 7, 2023

June’s Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health meeting will be data driven. Not that the decisions of the board are not usually data driven, but data will be the focus on this month’s meeting in terms of how Public Health is using it to improve their programs, not to mention the literal maintenance and dissemination of that data. RECAP: GRCA Board Hears About December Storm, and Gets New (Old) Executive

Despite the challenges that the Grand River Conservation Authority is facing, January’s board meeting was brief and straightforward as they handled some of the usual beginning-of-the-term business. MEETING PREVIEW: Grand River Conservation Board Meeting for January 27, 2023

The last local board or shared service committee meeting of the month is the Grand River Conservation Authority’s board meeting, and as usual there’s a lot of business to cover. RECAP: Library Board Learns About Card Changes and Fundraising Plans

Tuesday night marked the first meeting of the Guelph Public Library Board of Directors for this term, and it’s newly embiggened with two additional city council representatives. At this meeting, all the new and old members got an update about the now finished plans about the new main library building and next steps, which includes fundraising. Guelph Libraries Want to End Fines in 2022

We’ve all at some point suffered the humiliation and judgement of paying overdue fees at the public library, but the Guelph Public Library Board of Directors have an idea: What if you don’t have to pay overdue fees any more? That beautiful dream might become a reality in January if the City of Guelph endorses the budget just approved by the library board. No more library fines starting New Year’s Day 2022.
