Committee of the Whole Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the July 7, 2025 Meeting?

It’s going be a packed Committee of the Whole meeting for July, the last one before summer break! After a lengthy closed session and a roll call of many accomplished city hall staffers, the members of committee will dig into downtown construction (and reconstruction), the collection of fees from local speeders, more accessibility, and even a proposal to push Guelph as a candidate to host a national sports event. We open up three weeks of double meetings with Committee of the Whole and this one, which is yet another shareholder meeting for Guelph Municipal Holdings Inc, the holding company the City of Guelph uses  to secure it’s four per cent stake in Alectra Utilities. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the June 24, 2025 Meeting?

June comes to end, at least in terms of council business, with the usual midyear visit from the external auditor. That’s pretty much the one major piece of business for this month’s regular meeting of council, but there will be another crack at the Committee of the Whole agenda, and there will some more actions concerning the filling of a recent council vacancy. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the May 13, 2025 Meeting?

The planning meeting this month of May will focus on three very different and specific things. First, council will consider yet another appeal of another heritage designation. Then, unlike last month, council will mull over a potential new development. And finally, council will look at some updates to a bylaw that tells you where the signs can all go.
