Normally, the most continuous race during the municipal election is Ward 2. It’s usually the one with the most number of candidates, but in this election year it will have to settle for second place. On this week’s second edition of the podcast, we’ve got two candidates running in Ward 2 and are both running for city council for the second time. Sensing a pattern?

First up, we will talk to Michelle Bowman, who ran for Ward 1 Councillor in the last election and has also previously run as the federal Green Party candidate. Bowman will tell us what she’s learned from those past races, why she’s pushing to get a better deal for municipalities, and managing expectations while doing community engagement.

Then, we will bring in Morgan Dandie, a frequent council delegate and previous Ward 2 candidate, about how she will turn her advocacy into action on council, why council needs someone with experience living with poverty, and how she will balance economic needs downtown with social justice ones.
