In a remarkable turn of events, the Accessibility Advisory Committee finished work early in their first meeting of 2025! They still got a lot of work done though. They were consulted about heritage downtown and they had some comments about on-street accessible parking during the patio season, but the meat of the meeting was in the way the City of Guelph currently asks people with disabilities to apply for needed mobility services. This Week at Council: Housing Request Opens Door to August Meeting

This Week at Council – Bars, Bylaws, and Bicycles
Some committees take the summer off, but Committee of the Whole is still in session, at least for July anyway. Committee of the Whole Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the July 5 Meeting?
We’ve got one more month of meetings before the start of the annual summer break, and it’s going to be a pretty busy month. To kick off July, city council will be looking to the future a new strategic plan, a new e-scooter bylaw, new performance goals for paramedics, and a permanent version of the seasonal patio program. RECAP: Marathon Committee of Adjustment Meetings Struggles With Small Bar’s Small Patio
This first Committee of Adjustment meeting for June was, itself, about the length of two regular meetings. That’s what happens when you have a full agenda with 10 different applications, and it includes one where it seems like the entire neighbourhood wants to have their say.
