In one of the last big events for Guelph’s mayoral candidates before voting begins this weekend, the Guelph Chamber of Commerce hosted their usual election debate. This one got spicy with one of the candidates taking up the attack on the other, only to get blocked by a third, but for the most part, the potential future mayors were tested on their ideas for supporting local businesses and tackling the housing and affordability crises. RECAP: Mayoral Candidates Clash Over Housing and Affordability at Realtors’ Debate

It was beautiful fall morning outside the Italian Canadian Club, but inside everyone had their serious faces on as Guelph’s mayoral candidates faced off for the third time this election. Because this debate was hosted by the OnePoint Association of Realtors, the focus was on housing, housing costs, and affordability, and the five mayoral candidates in attendance had some different ideas about what they can do, and they even sometimes agreed.
