It’s the end of another month of city council meetings, and there was a lot of ground covered with a couple of big meetings. We took one step closed to getting some supportive housing in the city, we got at least one firm decision about what the 2022 election will look like, and there was some interestingly wonkish discussion about investing policy. The controversial Emma-Earl pedestrian bridge has hit an unexpected delay after a citizens’ group wrote to the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks with concerns about the City of Guelph’s environmental assessment process. The Ministry has concurred with the group that there have been “deficiencies” with the City’s environmental review, and the project could now be delayed by a year.
