Fed Gov’t Hires Consultants to Review Rail in Southwestern Ontario

Wouldn’t it be nice to travel from Toronto to Québec City on frequent and reliable high speed rail? Well the Federal government thinks so to. Borrowing from $396.8 million over two years set aside in the 2022 Federal budget for Transport Canada and Infrastructure Canada, the Ministry of Transportation has engaged two consultants to look at transforming passenger rail in the country’s busiest corridor. West End Community Garden Scores More Investment

You can see it from the road, a massive community garden on the same property as St. Peter Catholic Elementary School on Westwood Road. For almost two years now, community members in the Westwood and Willow area in the west end have developed a well-used and well-loved facility to fight food insecurity in this area of Guelph, and again their hard work is being recognized. Guelph Hiking Club Celebrates 50 Years of Promoting Trails and Nature

The Guelph Hiking Trail Club has been making a lot of waves in the last few years to promote the expansion, and expanded use, of Guelph’s various routes and trails. You may be interested to know though that this has been a 50-year endeavour. This past weekend, the Guelph Hiking Trail Club celebrated the end of its first half-century with a party at the Arboretum, and community project they’d like some help with.
