City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the July 15, 2025 Meeting?

There will be no senioritis at July’s planning meeting. With an agenda this big, no one is slacking off! Coming up at the last planning meeting before summer break, council will have a slate of new heritage designations to consider, plus a few objections. There will also be a decision about a new project in the west end, an update on the City of Guelph’s efforts to create more affordable housing, and a couple of administrative matters. This Week at Council: Downtown is Getting Higher, While Stone Road is Getting a Plan

The planning meeting of council for the month of April involved getting high. Or, to put that another way, it involved re-establishing height limits. The ones downtown. Council considered how high buildings can go in the future, and then they moved their gaze to the south end with a new project on Clair Road, before looking at a new way to make housing happen faster in the area around Stone Road Mall. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the April 8, 2025 Meeting?

Welcome to the agenda for the April planning meeting, and for the first time in a couple of months we have a genuine planning proposal for new units. That’s later in the agenda, first, council has approve another whole batch of heritage designations, and then approve two major pieces of policy in the form of getting higher downtown (building-wise speaking) and charging density and development in the area around Stone Road Mall. MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for March 6, 2025

It’s been a busy couple of months so far in 2025 for Heritage Guelph, and March is no exception. In fact, this agenda is stacked with stuff that they didn’t have the time to cover at last month’s meeting! Among those items are the future of a major piece of infrastructure downtown and the potential proactive designation of several buildings at the U of G, but in new business the committee will take a long look at Paisley Street.
