Perhaps because of the all the work that needs to be done around the budget at the same time this week, the month’s regular council meeting will be a symphony of rubber stamps as the horseshoe approves decisions made at Committee of the Whole, plus the usual midterm review of committee and board appointments. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the November 9 Meeting?
November’s planning meeting will be a relatively straightforward affair with only two items on the agenda this month. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the October 26 Meeting?
The end of October brings what will likely be a fairly lengthy discussion at council about the role the City should or needs to play in the creation of affordable and supportive housing in our town. Along with that agenda item there will be all the leftover items from the Committee of the Whole meeting plus a formal endorsement of a request for more financial aid from the upper levels of government. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the October 19 Meeting?
A third Monday council meeting? Not quite, it’s actually a council workshop. Some big decisions are going to have to be made about planning in the next two or three decades, a lot of people coming to Guelph are going to need places to live and to work, and this is part of the process in developing those ideas. Continue reading “City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the October 19 Meeting?”
City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the October 13 Meeting?
This month’s planning meeting will give council some post-Thanksgiving work to do in the form of a couple of small development projects that aren’t based around the south end, and some cultural heritage insight for the local history nerds out there. It’s unlikely to be the most intense planning meeting this year, but it will still be very busy.
