This month’s meeting of the Grand River Conservation Authority membership is the last one before a summer break (like a lot of local boards and committees), and that means it’s time for some unfinished business. MEETING PREVIEW: Accessibility Advisory Committee for June 20, 2023

MEETING PREVIEW: Guelph Public Library Board for June 19, 2023

This month’s meeting of the Guelph Public Library Board of Directors is the beneficiary of perfect timing. It had to be moved to accommodate the schedule of some members, and as fate would have it, the new meeting date is just over 12 hours before the groundbreaking on the Baker Street Redevelopment, which includes the new library building. MEETING PREVIEW: Guelph Police Services Board for June 15, 2023

This month’s Guelph Police Services Board meeting promises to be a busy one, and police have a lot of different information to report, including the biggest report of all, the Annual Report. The board will also look at the annual Use of Force report, the hiring of some additional officers, and they will hear from several delegates about noisy cars and another annual report, the one from Crime Stopppers. Two Committee of Adjustment meetings in the same month?! What did we do to deserve such a treat? Well, despite the very full agenda at the June 8 meeting, the perhaps most controversial item of the month has been reserved to this standalone meeting, which will determine the short-term fate of the Days Inn property. MEETING PREVIEW: Board of Health Meeting for June 7, 2023

June’s Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Board of Health meeting will be data driven. Not that the decisions of the board are not usually data driven, but data will be the focus on this month’s meeting in terms of how Public Health is using it to improve their programs, not to mention the literal maintenance and dissemination of that data. MEETING PREVIEW: Heritage Guelph Meeting for June 12, 2023

After taking May off, Heritage Guelph is returning to the virtual committee meeting room with a new agenda that will look at a couple of different matters. There will be an update about a couple of heritage designation files, plus a report about a potential demolition in the city’s heritage district, and the committee will also learn how they might be able to do more to advance the work of future designations. MEETING PREVIEW: Committee of Adjustment Meeting for June 8, 2023

It’s another long list of variances being asked for at the first of two Committee of Adjustment meetings this month. New additions, new buildings, new uses, and a pretty vast new manufacturing facility are all on the agenda, as the committee must decide what minor requests are minor enough to get their approval.
