GUELPH POLITICAST #539 – The Incumbent and the Insurgent (feat. Rodrigo Goller and Kevin Bowman)

The nominations are closed, the campaigning has begun, the signs are going up, and it’s not even Labour Day weekend yet! Time marches on, and so does this podcast, which this week will feature two more people running for Guelph city council, one is an incumbent looking for support to sit for another term, and the other is an insurgent hoping to replace one incumbent in his ward around the horseshoe!

Up first will be Rodrigo Goller, who is presently a city councillor in Ward 2 and is trying again to run for a third term. We will talk to Goller about running as an incumbent in a change election, his plan to pivot on the housing issue, and his opinion on what council was able to accomplish in the last four years.

And then we will talk to Kevin Bowman who is running in Ward 3. Bowman came close to winning a seat in 2022, less than 100 votes, so we will talk about how he plans to make up the difference this time, why he says he’s going to be a full-time councillor, and what he personally gets out of this very difficult job representing the people of Ward 3.

So let’s hear from two more council candidates on this week’s Guelph Politicast!
