In the quest to get all complete Candidate Questionnaires back before the beginning of advanced polls this weekend, there’s more news about candidates not running for office even though people will still be able to vote for them.
James Kerr told Guelph Politico that he is not campaigning for the trustee seat in Ward 6 and Puslinch for the Upper Grand District School Board. His name will still be on the ballot, but for all intents and purposes, he’s dropped out of the race.
Kerr joins Juanita Burnett in Ward 1 and 5, and fellow Ward 6 and Puslinch candidate Kevin Bowman as being candidates still technically on the ballot, but aren’t doing any campaigning. Lise Bucher, who filed papers to run for one of the Ward 6 city council seats, is also not actively seeking office though..
Six people remain on the ballot for the Ward 6 and Puslinch trustee seat including incumbent Marty Fairburn and challengers Jolly Bedi, Raquel Beitz, Aisha Jahangir, Bernie Kehler, and Seleena Reid.
Election Day is on October 22, and advanced polls open this Friday and run through Saturday and Sunday.
