GUELPH POLITICAST #450 – The Year at Council (September – December)

Committee of the Whole Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the January 14, 2025 Meeting?

Starting a week late following the Christmas holidays, council will meet for the first Committee of the Whole of 2025 and there will be a lot of place setting for what staff are working on for the next 12 months. This Week at Council: The Epic Season Finale!

Two epic meetings in less than 24 hours! This is how the council year ended with a slate of controversial items from changes to planning policy to statements of intent from council. First, at the planning meeting, there was a last ditch effort to save the historic greenhouse at the University of Guelph and at the regular meeting on Wednesday, some councillor looked to dissent from the mayor’s public statements. City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the December 11, 2024 Meeting?

So this is going to be the last Guelph City Council meeting of 2024, and it’s going to be a little loose.
