There’s one more meeting before the holiday break, and it belongs to the Accessibility Advisory Committee. It’s been a busy year for the AAC, and much of this meeting will cover business that’s been covered at other points this year including the very contentious topic of voting options for the 2026 Municipal Election. RECAP: Heritage Guelph Looks Ahead to 2024!
The last Heritage Guelph meeting of the year did something ironic… It looked to the future. This Week at Council: Royal City Mission Saved (For Now) and The Budget
This week council took a couple of tough meetings. On Tuesday, there was a question about homelessness downtown, but the controversial motion proposed by Mayor Cam Guthrie had been pulled. Still, there’s was a matter of funding for Royal City Mission and their daytime shelter services, council had to decided how and if they were going to fund that further. Planning Staff Looking to Reverse Course on Some Official Plan Changes
The adventure continues… Earlier this year, Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing returned to the City of Guelph the latest version of their Official Plan with 18 modifications. There was some disagreement about that. Since then, the new Minister announced that he was going to rescind those changes made by his predecessor, but what does that mean for Guelph?
