City Council Preview – What’s on the Agenda for the November 3, 2026 Meeting?

This is the end… of this term of council, and boy does it look like they left a lot of stuff for this last meeting! Just kidding. The only baggage at this meeting will be of the emotional kind as we say goodbye to some old friends and get ready to welcome some new ones a couple of weeks later. For the last time, let’s see what Mayor Guthrie, et al have in-store.

NOTE #1: Delegates will be able to appear at this meeting in-person or via tele-presense but you do have to register with the clerks office before 10 am on Friday October 30. You can also submit written delegations and correspondences for agenda items.

NOTE #2: In addition to meeting in-person, this meeting will also be live-streamed on the City of Guelph’s website here.

Recognizing Members of City Council – This is the goodbye episode. The agenda says that, “Mayor Guthrie will speak to this item,” which means that he will offer platitudes and gratitudes at this last meeting he will chair as the Mayor of Guelph. This will also be the last meeting for Christine Billings, Erin Caton, Carly Klaseen and either Leanne Caron or Ken Yee Chew, as at least one of who will likely be sworn in as mayor at the next meeting of council. Get the tissues out, or, conversely, the champagne(?).
